My mom has Stage IV pancreatic cancer and had CK procedure back in Jun08. We are so blessed to have her with us but she has experienced horrible pain in her bowel area and has ongoing problems with diarrhea and can no longer eat normal foods without extreme pain after. The doctors believe this is from the radiation. Any other patients experience problems like this & is there anything that can help her? She is taking high doses of pain killers but I want to see if there is any help post CK for radiation damage to this area? or is it just the side effect and that is something that can not change.

She should be on a proton pump inhibitor if not already (such as Prilosec, which can be obtained OTC). Sometimes Carafate can help.

Other things you can try include Senokot-S, Miralax, sorbitol 70% syrup, milk of magnesia.
