I received word today that my CK procedure for brain lesion has been approved. I'm a melanoma stage IV patient that recently completed a 12 week clinical trial. A brain MRI exit eval revealed the new 7x6x8mm met in the left lentiform nucleus. The melanoma, not unlike fleas on a dog, seems to keep moving to a new place to scratch! I'm active in several support groups including the Reel Recovery program for men. I'm sure I'll learn much about CK in the days to come. My work requires quiet concentration and a fair amount of mental analysis, would it be prudent to plan on cutting back for a while post CK? I'm hearing about headaches and fatigue.
Thanks!

There should be only mild symptoms or none at all after CK for a small metastasis such as this one, perhaps just some slight fatigue a week or two after treatment that would subside in a few days. You will most likely not need to cut back at all...

Thanks for your reply. That's very encouraging. I'll receive CK at the Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders in Fort Worth, Texas. After a post CK interval, assuming expected results, I'll begin a new melanoma clinical trial at the Mary Crowley Cancer Research Center at Baylor Dallas. Eventually my team wants me on one of the melanoma vaccine therapies. Today's patient needs a diverse team from several disciplines and I really admire how the healthcare professionals are working together for the best possible outcome.
I'm a 4.5 year melanoma IV survivor and always available to share my experience with the disease.
