My parter (47) was diagnosed with PC in April this year, on the tail, which had already spread to the liver (the liver has numerous lesions) so he was inoperable from the start. The only symptom which led to the diagnosis was DVT in both legs which passed through the lungs, and the tumor was spotted during a chest scan of the lungs.
He has been on a UK trial (telovac) of chemo (gem/cap) and vaccine (GV1001) since then. The first scan showed that everything was stable and contained but the last scans showed some more spread in the liver and also some evidence of disease in the bone (lower back) and some in stomach lining.
UK doctors now believe it was his own immune system which returned the first good scan result and not the treatment and they have now withdrawn all treatment and are offering nothing in it's place.
Other than some abdominal and leg fluid retention (which is being drained off this week), there are currently no other symptoms and he was taking the chemo very well with limited side effects other then fatigue.
Can anyone suggest any alternative treatment we should look at? His consultant doesn't think CK will be an option due to the amount of mets (although we've not discussed with a CK specialist yet).
All advice much appreciated.

I don't think CK would be of much use unless it is needed to palliate the bone lesion(s). You might ask if there are any other clinical trials available.
