Good afternoon, On 29-Nov-2006, my mother made a radical mastectomy with left axillary dissection. Through the pathological diagnosis was concluded to be a breast invasive ductal carcinoma, moderately differentiated, grade 2 by the criteria of Elston-Ellis. She performed chemotherapy and radiotherapy after surgery (for approximately 6 months) and hormone therapy for 2 years. In July 2008, was diagnosed liver cancer and began chemotherapy, followed by atypical resection of liver metastasis in 18-Dec-2008. Through the pathological diagnosis was concluded to be liver metastasis of ductal adenocarcinoma of the breast. She performed chemotherapy for other 6 months and hormone therapy until today. In June-2009 were detected liver metastasis presumably the same etiology, but still no real diagnosis (she will be seen by the doctor in 2 weeks). Her oncologist has warned us that surgery in liver is no longer an option, so chemotherapy and/or radiotherapy will probably be the options, for as long as she can hang in. We would like to know if you believe that CK would be an option (there seems to be 3 masses). Thank you very much!

It would probably be a good option, but we would obviously need to know more details. I would suggest getting her scans seen by the CK center of your choice.

My wife now 58 had Breast cancer and in 2008 one Met in liver was observed. After Nine chemocycles , RFA was done as there was no rffect of Chemo. On review after 3 months of RFA it was observed yhat there were Two lesions in Right lobe and one in left lobe. Got Therashere done for the right lobe, but after three months Pet scan showed Two Lesions in Left lobe and two Lesions in Left lobe. Sent Pet CT reports to HCG Bangalore for knowing the feasibility for Cyberknife. After confirmation just got the Cyber Knife treatment from HCG bangalore for all the four lesions. This has been done on 26th August 2009. There are no other mets in any other part of the body and she is " Touch wood" keeping good and active health. My question : Do we expect good results from Cyber knife for these 4 Mets in Liver?

70-90% control rates are usually reported. So no guarantee, but odds are on your side.
